Qatar has a long and illustrious folk heritage that has been passed down through the generations. Males only wear Al-Ardah during weddings in Qatar. Al-Razif: Qataris are the only people who practice Al-Razif in any manner. Young and old, dressed in traditional Qatari garb and wielding swords, participate in this activity together. In any peaceful or warlike condition, or pleasures and sufferings in their folklore, which is considered as a historical treasure, people maintain their predecessors' customs, arts, depictions of their social life, beliefs and ideals. Alternatively, it can be preserved through songs and poetry, or passed down through traditional dances.
